A417 Missing Link Scheme

UPDATE: Secretary of State for Transport has confirmed the A417 Missing Link scheme can proceed to a Development Consent Order (DCO) planning application

We have hopefully got good news for all parishioners who are disturbed by the road noise in DA, with formal notification of the Missing Link consultation - which is the section of road at Birdlip which Highways England intends to turn into Dual Carriageway. As part of this consultation we have the opportunity to raise the issue of noise pollution again - in particular the concrete sections between Latton and Daglingworth - which has been a constant source of complaint and where evidence exists that excessive noise pollution has been experienced by residents since the road was built.

We need Highways England to consider the 24 hour nature of the current and expected traffic along the A419/17 - especially their projected increases in heavy goods vehicles and therefore how they will mitigate the noise pollution.

Please do go along to any of the below consultations. When we know more about the plans we will be able to gather signatures to lobby for the noise pollution to be solved.

Highways England have written:
Before the application can be considered, Highways England will be consulting on further design aspects of the proposed scheme. The public consultation to discuss the updated designs will start on Friday 27 September 2019 and end on Friday 8 November 2019.

This is a positive step forward for the project and we hope you can join us to hear more about the consultation.
