Broadway Farm Planning Application 17/03826/REM

Many people in the village will have received a letter from Cotswold District Council asking for comments on the above development. Comments should preferably be sent to the Cotswold District Council Planning web page and linked to the above application number. If you haven’t commented, and have any concerns about this development would you please let me know. The application is very likely go to the full CDC planning committee which gives the village an opportunity to voice their opinions. The time allocated for speaking is three minutes for the Parish Council, three minutes for the “objectors” representative, and five minutes for the District Councillor.

Parking vehicles on the footpath

It has come to our notice that there are still some residents in the village, on the main Down Ampney road, that continue to park vehicles on the footpath.

This has led to one of our severely disable resident, who is blind, being somewhat distressed by walking into a car and then having to negotiate traversing onto the road.

May we remind you that it is ILLEGAL to park, or obstruct the footpath, and the Parish Council will inform the police to take action.
There is nothing wrong in parking on the road. In fact this is beneficial as it tends to slow speeding traffic.

Airfield Activity at RAF Fairford Autumn 2017

Three B-52 Stratofortress aircraft, 300 Airmen and support equipment have recently arrived to RAF Fairford, to conduct theatre integration and training. The aircraft and personnel have come from the 2nd Bomb Wing located at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. During their time at RAF Fairford, they will conduct flight operations and integration to improve bomber interoperability, training alongside allied nations and joint partners.

RAF Fairford serves as the U.S. Air Forces in Europe’s forward operating location for bombers. The strong and strategic relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom ensures a collective defense posture that is ready and prepared to respond to and support global operations. These specific events enable theatre integration and training with U.S. joint partners, allied nations and other U.S. Air Force units, which enhances global bomber interoperability.
